To laugh is to risk appearing a fool To weep is to risk appearing sentimental To reach out for another is to risk involvement To expose your feelings is to risk exposing your true self To place your ideal, your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss To love is to risk not being loved in return
To live is to risk dying To hope is to risk despair To try is to risk failure
Yet risks must be taken Because the greatest hazard in life is risking NOTHING
The person who risks nothing Does nothing Has nothing Is nothing
I am an optimistic, can do, and never quit guy. The spirit of hope indelibly marks my DNA. My research at The Ohio State University helped people discover the best in themselves and change their personal lives, public organizations, and whole communities. I bring the same spirit and enthusiasm to my blog to help those who grieve who find themselves suddenly alone, navigate their grieving. Join my more than 24,300Twitter (@alwaysgoodstuff).
