🍎 Today’s Health Question ~ Do I Have to Stretch Everyday?

You Bet! Stretching is as important as cardio

Flexibility exercises are just as important as cardio, strength and power training. . . . Regular stretching helps increase your range of motion in the joints, improves blood circulation and posture and alleviates muscular tension throughout the body. In addition, it enhances athletic performance and may reduce the risk of injury.  Furthermore, stretching also boosts nutrition supply to the muscles. . . . “When you stretch, you’re improving blood flow in the body and, in turn, circulating more nutrients throughout the body. . . . Stretching also improves your mental state, as it reduces stress and releases tension.

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ A Garden in the Desert

A Garden in the Desert

Harriet Monroe

So light and soft the days fall—
Like petals one by one
Down from yon tree whose flowers all
Must vanish in the sun.

Like almond-petals down, dear,
Odorous, rosy-white,
Falling to our green world here
Off the thick boughs of night.

One like another still lies—
Tomorrow is today.
Always the buzzing bee flies,
Who never flies away.

Ever the same blue sky rounds
Its chalice for the sun.
The mountains at the world’s bounds
Their purple chorals run.

And ever you and I, friend,
Free of this mortal scheme,
Look out beyond desire’s end
And dream the spacious dream.

🤗 A Better Life ~ It’s All In The Way We Ask the Question

How Would the Conversation Go If You Asked a Different Question?

Instead of: How was your day?

You asked: What was something good that happened to you today?

Instead of: Why did you do that?”

You asked: What is a different way we could accomplish this task?

Asking questions that elicit a constructive response usually lead to a more productive conversation.

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ Two Traits for Success

Hard work and perseverance are two traits of those who succeed. Keep working, keep persevering, you’ll come out on top.

Today’s Smile 😃

Joe: “I used my best pickup line at the bar last night.”

Pete: “Did it work?”

Joe: “I don’t know. Her boyfriend knocked me out before I could judge her reaction.”

💡 Something to Think About

It’s hard to let go.

It’s hard to let go of people you love who die.

It’s hard to let go of things that once brought joy and happiness, but are no longer available.

Embrace what you have. It will be different, but in the difference lies a new chance to find happiness and joy. Take the chance. Live the life you have.

✒️ Writers’ Wisdom ~ What Is the Starting Place for a Story?

“Nearly always in my mind a story begins with a character or characters. This holds good though the main interest of the story may be incident or the surprise of its plot. Making the story is with me the process of providing these people with things to do and say which will express them. I never began with a title (they are my plague), or a setting. Once or twice with a situation. Occasionally with a sentence which came into my mind from heaven knows where.” ~ H. C. Bailey
