Pete: “What did you say?”
Joe: “I said, ‘The vending machine.'”

If we hold our counsel we’ll make fewer enemies and have fewer regrets. When we tell others what they should do, little good can come from our wisdom. When we’re sure we’re right, it’s hard to be silent. If we value the relationship we may have to watch those we love stumble and fall. At times, the best we can do is to offer a hand when someone we love stumbles.
If
e. e. cummings
If freckles were lovely, and day was night,
And measles were nice and a lie warn’t a lie,
Life would be delight,—
But things couldn’t go right
For in such a sad plight
I wouldn’t be I.
If earth was heaven and now was hence,
And past was present, and false was true,
There might be some sense
But I’d be in suspense
For on such a pretense
You wouldn’t be you.
If fear was plucky, and globes were square,
And dirt was cleanly and tears were glee
Things would seem fair,—
Yet they’d all despair,
For if here was there
We wouldn’t be we.
You have an opportunity today no other person will have. You have the opportunity to take the unique tasks life tosses at you. Handle them with grace, dignity, and competence. Do it and your world will shine.
“Some authors, when starting a novel, imagine a place first. Others, a character starts taking shape in their head. I start with a hook, a situation, a ‘what if.”

How much of your potential are you using? What are you capable of doing? My thought is that you are capable of great things. Your greatness is waiting for you to turn the nob and open the door. Dare to be great.
