My parents’ door was always open to neighbors, friends, and relatives. When someone knocked, they were invited in and my mom insisted they have coffee and a piece of cake or pie. My dad would come from the living room and they all sat at the kitchen table. Hospitality is a big deal. It makes others feel welcomed, valued, and loved.
