🌾 Today’s Poem ~ Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

William Butler Yeats

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

    1. Thank you for your comments, Terveen. Our dreams reside in our heart. They hold our hopes for tomorrow. When one steps on our dreams the pain may not be seen, but is felt at a visceral level. Treasure and protect your dreams they are as much a part of you as your hands. Shine on. Ray
