Be careful who you listen to. Don’t let others set limits on you. Neighbors told my parents my brother and I would do well to work in one of the local factories. My parents didn’t believe them. My brother and I both have had successful academic careers. I recall a young Mexican-American woman who was a student in one of my classes. She said her counselor told her she should get a job because her future was working in fast food and getting pregnant. This woman didn’t listen to her counselor. She earned a master’s degree and was working on a doctorate. Listen to your heart, never to voices who put limits on you.

  1. Though I also think some of us uni people actually made it because we were rebels. We saw through the guff of peoples suggestions. Not letting others dictate what we could and couldn’t do.

    1. Thank you for your comment. I’ve always believed the rebel spirit needs to be freed. It is this spirit that moves to the edge and sees things differently from the masses. Never quit. Have a great day. Ray
