🍎 Today’s Health Tip ~ Is Dried Fruit Nutritious?

Dried Fruit is Highly Nutritious.

It is loaded with micronutrients, fiber, and antioxidants. One piece of dried fruit contains about the same amount of nutrients as the fresh fruit, but condensed in a much smaller package.  By weight, dried fruit contains up to 3.5 times the fiber, vitamins and minerals of fresh fruit. One serving can provide a large percentage of the daily recommended intake of many vitamins and minerals, such as folate. There are some exceptions. For example, the vitamin C content is significantly reduced when the fruit is dried. Dried fruit generally contains a lot of fiber and is a great source of antioxidants, especially polyphenols. Polyphenol antioxidants are associated with health benefits such as improved blood flow, better digestive health, decreased oxidative damage and reduced risk of many diseases.

🤗 A Better Life ~ The Dance

All good relationships are a beautiful dance, where the couple has learned to move together without thought. There is no concern over who is leading and following, it is all part of the great dance of love. The dance doesn’t happen overnight, but takes effort and commitment and quietly it happens, the relationship becomes an effortless dance.

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ Are You Stuck?

If we ask the right questions we’re more likely to get the right answers. If we’re stuck, we can free ourselves by asking different questions. We’ll eventually find the question(s) that speeds us along our way.

💡 Something to Think About

I hope you’ve made friends with yourself. For many of us, it’s easier to make friends with other people, but difficult to befriend ourselves. We are often are our most severe critic. Today, introduce yourself to yourself. Accept yourself as you are, where you are, with all your faults and gifts. You may be surprised, you may even fall in love with yourself. You’ll have a new best friend.

Today’s Smile 😃

Joe: “My grandpa asked how to print from his computer and I told him to push control p.”

Pete: “Did it work for him?”

Joe: “He said, he hasn’t been able to do that for years.”

👍 Today’s Good Word ~ Knowledgeable

Knowledgeable – def: having or showing knowledge or intelligence

It would be wonderful if we could become knowledgeable by taking a pill. It doesn’t work that way. We become knowledgeable through hard work, study, and experience. In my experience, I’ve seen people with great aptitude passed by people with less aptitude who chose to work hard and apply themselves to mastering what they’ve chosen to learn. We all have the potential to become more knowledgeable in the areas of our choice. How knowledgeable we become is up to us.

🌾 Today’s Poem ~ somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond

e. e. cummings

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skillfully, mysteriously) her first rose

or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility: whose texture
compels me with the colour of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

🌞 Today’s Inspiration ~ If It’s Worth It, Then . . .

“If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well. If it is worth having, it is worth waiting for. If it is worth attaining, it is worth fighting for. If it is worth experiencing, it is worth putting aside time for.”

~ Oscar Wilde
