Something to Think About

Do you have to be right? I know folks like that. The conversation ends when they speak. That is, unless you agree with them. Or, are you one of those with an open mind? Folks with an open mind are like young children, curious about everything. Open minded people often watch and listen from the sidelines or the edge of the circle. They don’t buy into prevailing thoughts. They investigate and discover allowing them to see more clearly what is real.

Today’s Power Thought ~ Who’s Programming Your GPS?

Who’s hand is programming your GPS? If we don’t know where we are going or want to go, someone else will program our GPS for us. Know where you’re going, it’s your choice, take control of your GPS. It may be a wild ride, but it will be your ride.

A Better Life ~ Choose to be Happy

We can be miserable and angry or happy and filled with life and joy. The choice is ours. I prefer to be happy and joyful. It’s always the right time to sing and dance.

Today’s Good Word ~ Truckload

Truckload – Def: the amount of something that can be carried by a truck

Here’s hoping opportunities knock on your door by the truckload.

Here’s hoping you have truckloads of trusted friends.

Here’s hoping good news arrives at your home by the truckload.

Here’s hoping you carry love by the truckload.

Here’s hoping all the good things life has to offer flow to you and those you love by the truckload.

Today’s Poem ~ Lover’s Gifts LII: Tired of Waiting

Lover’s Gifts LII: Tired of Waiting

Rabindranath Tagore

Tired of waiting, you burst your bonds, impatient flowers, before
the winter had gone. Glimpses of the unseen comer reached your
wayside watch, and you rushed out running and panting, impulsive
jasmines, troops of riotous roses.
You were the first to march to the breach of death, your
clamour of colour and perfume troubled the air. You laughed and
pressed and pushed each other, bared your breast and dropped in
The Summer will come in its time, sailing in the flood-tide
of the south wind. But you never counted slow moments to be sure
of him. You recklessly spent your all in the road, in the terrible
joy of faith.
You heard his footsteps from afar, and flung your mantle of
death for him to tread upon. Your bonds break even before the
rescuer is seen, you make him your own ere he can come and claim

Today’s Inspiration ~ Do You Want Peace?

“If there is to be peace in the world,

there must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations,

there must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities,

there must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors,

there must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home,

there must be peace in the heart. ”

—Lao Tzu

Today’s Health Tip ~ Are You Getting Enough Calcium?

Calcium is a mineral most often associated with healthy bones and teeth, although it also plays an important role in blood clotting, helping muscles to contract, and regulating normal heart rhythms and nerve functions. About 99% of the body’s calcium is stored in bones, and the remaining 1% is found in blood, muscle, and other tissues. . . . The body gets the calcium it needs in two ways. One is by eating foods or supplements that contain calcium, and the other is by drawing from calcium in the body. If one does not eat enough calcium-containing foods, the body will remove calcium from bones. Ideally, the calcium that is “borrowed” from the bones will be replaced at a later point. But this doesn’t always happen, and can’t always be accomplished just by eating more calcium. . . . The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for calcium for women 19-50 years of age is 1,000 mg daily; for women 51+, 1,200 mg. For pregnant and lactating women, the RDA is 1,000 mg. For men 19-70 years of age, the RDA is 1,000 mg; for men 71+ years, 1,200 mg
