In the song, MacArthur’s Park by Richard Harris, the lyrics read in part, “Someone left the cake out in the rain/I don’t think that I can take it/ ‘Cause it took so long to bake it/And I’ll never have that recipe again.” That’s the way it is with relationships if we don’t work at them each day. Relationships are growing or decaying, they are never static. Here’s hoping you don’t leave the cake out in the rain. Work the relationship every day.
