Poem of the Day ~ Easter Night

Easter Night

Alice Meynell

All night had shout of men
And cry of woeful women filled his way;
Until that noon of sombre sky
On Friday, clamour and display smote him;
No solitude had He,
No silence, since Gethsemane.

Public was death;
But power, but Might,
But life again, but Victory,
Were hushed within the dead of night,
The shuttered dark, the secrecy.
And all alone, alone, alone,
He rose again behind the stone.

Positive Thought of the Day ~ Spread Your Joy and Love

Joy is strength- Joy is love – Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls. She gives most who gives with Joy.” Mother Teresa

Note: Fill your tank with joy and you’ll light the way for all who come your way. You’ll turn naysayers into optimists and those who are sad will be dancing and singing all because you passed their way.

Health Tip of the Day ~ Walnuts are an Awesome Food

5 Reasons You Should be Eating Walnuts

    1. Rich in Nutrients: Walnuts are a nutrient-dense food that contains essential nutrients such as protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. A one-ounce serving of walnuts provides 4 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber, and is an excellent source of manganese and copper.
    2. Heart Health: Eating walnuts can be beneficial for heart health as they contain high amounts of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is an essential omega-3 fatty acid. Research has shown that consuming walnuts may reduce the risk of heart disease by improving blood lipid levels and decreasing inflammation.
    3. Brain Health: Walnuts are rich in antioxidants and other nutrients that are beneficial for brain health. Studies have shown that consuming walnuts may help improve cognitive function, memory, and mood.
    4. Weight Management: Despite being high in calories, walnuts can be a great addition to a weight management plan. Research has shown that incorporating walnuts into a healthy diet can lead to greater satiety and reduced overall caloric intake.
    5. Versatility in Cooking: Walnuts can be used in a variety of ways in cooking, making them a versatile ingredient to have in the kitchen. They can be added to salads, baked goods, smoothies, and used as a topping for oatmeal or yogurt, making them a convenient and easy way to add nutrition to your meals.

Feeling Good Tip of the Day ~ Let Hope Fill Your Life

“Hope implies that there is the possibility of a better future, according to the famed hope researcher C.R. Snyder. It shows up at the worst possible time when things are dire and difficult, but can keep us going during those hard moments. If during the difficulty, we can see the faint glimmer of something better, then hope “opens us up,” says Barbara Fredrickson, a positive psychology researcher. And turn us toward something better.”

NOTE: Hope is the fuel that gets us out of bed in the morning and excited about our day. It rises from our deep believe that good triumphs over evil, things will work out well for us, and no matter the turmoil we’re surrounded in, it will end well and we will land on our feet. There are signs of hope all around us. Each time I see new life I see it as a sign of hope. Each time I witness an act of kindness, I see it as a sign of hope.
