Poem of the Day ~ Portrait

Portrait

George Leonard Allen

Her eyes?   Dark pools of deepest shade,
    Like sylvan lakes that lie
In some sequestered forest glade
    Beneath a starry sky.

Her cheeks?   The ripened chestnut’s hue,—
    Rich autumn’s sun-kissed brown!
Caressed by sunbeams dancing through
    Red leaves that flutter down.

Her form?   A slender pine that sways
    Before the murmuring breeze
In summer, when the south wind plays
    Soft music through the trees.

Herself?   A laughing, joyous sprite
Who smiles from dawn till dark,
As lovely as a summer night
    And carefree as a lark.

“If we don’t dream of the possible, the possible never happens.”

Christopher Reeve

NOTE: What are the limits you are placing on yourself? How do the limits you are placing on yourself keep you from making your dream reality? Is time to let go of self-imposed limits and claim your dream? This is the time. No limits. Never quit.

Feeling Good Tip of the Day ~ Don’t Sell Yourself Short

“Remember that you’re valuable. One of the best ways to cultivate happiness is to remember how valuable you are–simply because you exist, not because of what you’ve done or what you can do, but because of the unique set of gifts and traits you bring to the world.” Source

NOTE: You’ll feel better the second you stop comparing yourself to other people. You are you and that’s good enough. Use the energy wasted on comparisons and envy to pursue your goals. Cut yourself some slack, forgive yourself, and celebrate all your small victories. You’ll find your enjoying one good day after another.
