Positive Thought for Today ~ Cooperation Works

We’re either working together or working against. If I were to place a bet on which team gets to the finish line first, I’d place my money on the team that is working together. When we set aside our differences and discover what we share in common we create a positive environment. It’s true in the work environment and in personal relationships.

Think About It ~ We can much more together than we can do alone

I can lift a certain amount of weight by myself. When my friend helps me we can lift three times the weight I was able to lift alone. It’s the way life works. We can do much more together than we can do alone. When we work together we discover “our way” will get us much further than “my way” will get us. C’mon reach out a helping hand and work together with family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. Together, we’ll make it a better world.

Today’s Power Thought ~ An Important Thought to Carry Through the Day

Imagine if the central thought in your mind today as you interact with others is, “I come in peace. Let’s work together.” You will accomplish amazing feats.

What If . . .

What if we dared to work together for the common good? We do it when tragedy strikes; we don’t have to wait until we are pushed against the wall to act A former doctoral student gave me a small sculpture of five human figures standing in a circle holding hands. The circle is unbroken. One hand clasps the hand next to it until the circle is completed. The sculpture is a daily reminder to me that together we do much more, much sooner than we do alone.

Something to Think About

When my brother and I first learned to canoe it was a hilarious adventure. We’d go from one side of the river to the other side. A straight line was next to impossible. It was a good thing we both could swim seeing that we tipped the canoe more than a few times. Eventually we got it right and figured out how to paddle and not tip the canoe. When we’re not working in sync with each other, getting to where we want to go is difficult. When we argue over our perspectives and can’t find a compromise we tip our canoe. It works better when we figure out how to work together. We get to where we want to go much quicker and we don’t tip the canoe.

Today’s Good Word ~ Who, What, Where, When, and Why?

Who, what, where, when, and why. They are often referred to as the 5 W’s. These words hold the key to gaining information or solving problems. They are the starting place to our investigation into the unknown. If we use the words wisely, we frame questions that gather the information we desire and lead to further discoveries. The words can also be misused, for example, “Why did you do that?” In this case our statement doesn’t seek information as much as it accuses another. Instead, one could ask, “Why did this happen?” There is a big difference. The former leads to defensiveness, the latter leads to a cooperative search for truth.

👊 Today’s Power Thought ~ A Pathway to Success

One way to be successful is to work to make those around you successful. It always works.
